Having one of the most recognizable handbags in the world known as “Le Pliage,” Longchamp has been a fashion staple that is part of the growing collection of every woman’s closet.
Given the iconic Le Pliage bag’s rapid growth over the past two decades and first bag to be made of high-quality coated nylon, it has already became a living testimony of the true French craftsmanship, quality, modernity, style and elegance.
According to Longchamp’s CEO Cassegrain, “in the early, I was the first to have the idea to make luggage and bags out of high-quality coated nylon, a new material at the time… and is now indeed a worldwide best seller.”
As the brand is now coming close to celebrate its 70th anniversary milestone, Longchamp eyes New York for their first full-scale runway show.
The choice to do it in New York epitomizes the free, daring spirit of the brand as it caps an American-themed year after opening their flagship on Fifth Avenue featuring the brand’s collaboration with Shayne Oliver who brought a radical twist in the capsule collection.
Cassegrain shared, “our brand is a living creative lab, we are always open to new ideas and new experiences. I think this collaboration shows how we can stretch Longchamp, even using our most iconic styles.”
With its timeless and classic design anchored on simplicity, Longchamp will celebrate its anniversary in time for New York Fashion Week in September.
