“May Rebirth:” Bea Alonzo On The Unexpected Network Switch

UPDATE: Bea Alonzo has officially signed on to GMA-7. In her first interview since the switch, the actress revealed to veteran GMA journalist, Jessica Soho, that there is no bad blood between her and ABS-CBN.

Gusto ko mag-focus ngayon sa positibo. Alam ko in my heart na I got the blessing of my past bosses. I know na wala akong tinapakang tao,” she shared.

“Moving forward, yung mga nakikilala kong bagong tao sa bagong yugto ng buhay ko, they’re all excited.”

Yung pagpapaalam ko sa ABS-CBN – it was very, very emotional because tahanan ko yun for 20 years. I am very, very grateful sa lahat-lahat ng opportunities na binigay nila sa akin.”

She also explained to Jessica that the transfer came at the right time for the actress, calling it a new era for her career.

Parang may rebirth. I’m still ready to chase my dreams.”

GMA-7 has revealed that an “award-winning” actress will join their ranks – and all the clues have pointed to none other than Bea Alonzo.

The network first teased the reveal on Instagram, sharing that we’ll soon see a new “Kapuso” on their team soon. Afterward, GMA showcased a very telling photo of an actress’ upper profile, which fans were quick to uncover as none other than the box-office queen.

Another huge hint is Bea herself re-sharing an Instagram story with the same visual style and black and white aesthetic as GMA’s announcement post.

True enough, the distinction can’t be denied.

Once confirmed, the news will come seven months after the announcement that Bea has left longtime talent agency, Star Magic.

It has also been announced that Bea will star in a local adaptation of the popular Korean drama A Moment to Remember. She will play alongside GMA talent Alden Richards.

What other projects do you want to see from the star?
