Here’s Where You Should Start Your Indian Culinary Adventure

By

Indian isn’t always the first that comes to mind when we think of nonnative cuisines. Not everyone takes on a culinary adventure when deciding where to eat. But exploring different other flavors isn’t such a bad idea. As a matter of fact, there are so many flavors we’re missing on as we skip on Indian selections. Worry not for we found the perfect place where you can start exploring: Naan – Indian Street Kitchen.

Chef Aldrin, co-owner and chef of the restaurant, shares that Naan was created specifically for those only beginning to explore Indian cuisine. It has always been a part of their vision to cater to people who have not yet tried the cuisine.

With the rich and strong flavors from the Indian cuisine, Chef Aldrin has challenged himself to pattern the menu to the Filipino taste palette. “When I started my culinary career, I wanted to learn how to play with spices because I personally enjoy eating strongly flavored food. And I thought what better cuisine to learn about spices than Indian cuisine.”

As a result, Chef Aldrin came up with approachable and accessible choices. They, of course, added their own twists to make dining more familiar and fun to its market. Just like their signature dish: the Grilled Chicken Tikka Masala. “Traditionally, Indians don’t eat the chicken skin but we know that Filipinos love it so we decided to leave the skin on,” he shares.

Finding the right place to start exploring other cuisines can be a bit hard. It’s a hit or miss opportunity. So if you’re looking for a place to begin a culinary adventure at, try going Indian. Naan could just be the perfect place that will slowly get you into admiring the cuisine.

Naan – Indian Street Kitchen is located at 20 United St., Ground Floor, Unit 1 D Strip Bldg., Brgy. Kapitolyo, Pasig City
