From our very own candidates, Miss Universe Gazini Ganados, Miss World Michelle Dee, to Miss Supranational Resham Saeed, this is how they’re preparing for coronation night.

The pageant industry has always been a huge deal for the Filipinos. Perhaps it’s safe to say that it’s already part of our modern culture. In fact, whenever it’s fast-approaching, many of us are keeping tabs on our queens, already looking forward to what’s going to happen—from what they’ll wear for the coronation night to knowing the name of their signature walks.

Speaking of fashion, nothing gets pageant fans more riled up than anticipating what these queens will wear for the flurry of activities that have been set for them. Make no mistake about it, each day is meticulously planned and lined up for these girls, including their style choices. Considering everything from color choices, cuts, to complementing beauty looks, this daily show of fashion is something that fills the void as we wait for the reveal of hot ticket numbers such as the national costume and long gown they have prepared for the event.

However, as we’re waiting to get more by-the-second updates on such things, it’s just right for us to commend them on their preparations leading up to the big night. That’s why we already took the liberty to compile the best looks they donned thus far.

Michelle Dee

Michelle Dee had the privilege of visiting the House of the Lords in London—an opportunity not everyone may have. And it looks like she made it a point to showcase Filipino designs by wearing a pearl white suit ensemble with a Filipiniana butterfly sleeve accent by Kannah Designs.

For her profile interview, Michelle wore Ador Feliciano’s Arise Mindanao piece. It was an exquisitely crafted blue sculptural dress, which was a glamorous take on the Pantone 2020 color of the year, if we may say so ourselves.

Resham Saeed

As we’re really looking forward to Miss Supranational, we’re loving this look of Resham Saeed who kept things classic yet elegant one day before the coronation night. She wore a silk black gown in A-line silhouette accentuated by a thigh-high slit.

Seems like Resham is making the most of the Living Coral trend before it’s 2020. During her pre-taping for the Supra-Chat with Miss Supranational 2018 Valeria Latorre, she wore a lovely Mark Bumgarner halter dress paired with an orange leather bag.

Gazini Ganados

With only just a few days left before the Miss Universe coronation night, Gazini sure is preparing for it in true Filipino style. Wearing a crimson red dress embellished with ostrich feathers, it sure is a perfect case for graceful exuberance, as well as of all the festivities happening–especially this holiday season.

Proving that pageants are not just about dresses and long gowns, beauty queen Gazini Ganados wore a beautiful salamander jumpsuit accented with flared hems. But what we really love about this look is the weave fabrics from the provinces of Ifugao and Abra that symbolizes as a shield or “happiyo” in the Tuwali language.
