Your Holistic Beauty Starts At The Most Unexpected Part Of Your Body

By

This part of your body holds more power than you ever thought it does!

Achieving holistic beauty can be quite a challenge. We do everything we can to look pretty and feel healthy. But are we doing it the right way? You may be taking all the vitamins and using the best products to get to the goal but wonder why it won’t work. This is probably the reason why: your gut is unhealthy.
There are many times when I, too, wonder why my daily supplements won’t work. My biggest concern was my hair growing a lot slower than it’s supposed to. At a short talk by Nikki Torres of Pretty Darn Fit at the Kérastase Résistance Extentioniste launch on August 7 at the Basement Salon in SM Aura Premier, I learned more about why my hair won’t grow as fast as I want it to.

It’s In The Gut

As mentioned, your gut is probably the reason why your body is not as healthy as you want it to be. It’s the part of the body responsible for the absorption of nutrients from the food you eat into your bloodstream. If your gut is damaged then it can’t work properly. Eating unhealthy food deprives your gut of the nutrients it could have absorbed.

Pre and Probiotics

So what could be the solution to this? According to Nikki, you should always feed your cells right. This is where good bacteria comes in. To stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria in your gut, take prebiotic foods. Bananas and oats can be a good start! And to directly add to the population of good bacteria in your body, take probiotics. You might want to skip your favorite probiotic drink. Eat some kimchi, kombucha, or miso and you’re good to go.

Know Your Micronutrients

You might be looking at the menu and wonder: “which one of these are low in carbs?” or “which one is protein rich?” You never really wonder which one has Vitamin A, C, or E. Admittedly, our usual supply of these micronutrients are food supplements but you have to know them better. If you want healthier, younger looking skin, you can skip the collagen and take Vitamin C instead. If you want longer hair, like I do, take vitamin B complex, especially Biotin. The better you know your micronutrients, the easier it would be for you to manage your body.

Both Inside And Out

But it isn’t always in what you eat. Eating healthy plus using the right products externally (and working out) always give the best results. Perfect skin starts with the right nutrients to take and the perfect skincare routine to follow. And a strong and long hair comes with the right lifestyle and workout. Yes, if you want your hair to be strong, you better train it to be one.

Start Now

If you want to achieve that holistic beauty, start now. Don’t wait for tomorrow, next week, or the following year. Taking it from Nikki’s advice, wanting longer hair as quickly as possible, I would have to feed my body good (and healthy!) food all while training my hair to be strong and long. Using Kérastase Résistance Extentioniste could be the answer as it promises up to 4cm in 3 months. But best results won’t come without feeding my body the right nutrients it needs. So don’t delay the change until tomorrow when you can begin today!
