Here’s Why People are Raving About the New Show, ‘Dirty Linen’

Revenge is best served clean, pristine, and powerful, and this is what Dirty Linen is giving their audience so far for their first week

Beginning 2023 with a bang, ABS-CBN launched its first series this year with the revenge-driven drama called Dirty Linen. The show’s premise revolves around a group of individuals attempting to avenge their family members’ inexplicable disappearance. With just four episodes in, a lot of people have already been raving about the series on different social media platforms.

There’s still a lot to uncover from the plot and the characters themselves. For sure, that’s a lot to watch out for! But until the next episodes, here are some of the reasons why you need to start watching Dirty Linen as early as now.

Actor ensemble

A breed of veterans with a mix of rising stars complete the show’s cast, creating a balance for different fandoms. But besides the support of the audience, it’s their effective acting prowess that makes all the difference on screen.

Critically acclaimed Dolly De Leon plays a special, participatory role in the series as the first of the four kills of the Fieros with a Scream-like death scene.

Viewers were also delighted by the comebacks of Jennica Garcia and Xyriel Manabat on television. Meanwhile, Janine Gutierrez was praised for her strategic nuances as Alexa, one of the bereaved family members of the victims.

Plot trajectory

The story may have begun with the Fiero family crime, but there is so much more. Characters have their own secrets under their sleeves. Past events have yet to be explained. Moreever, subtle dialogues also carried meanings that a viewer shouldn’t miss—a good move from writers Bridgette Rebuca, Jayson Mondragon, Maribel Ilag, Kay Conlu-Brondial.

Dirty Linen is surely part of Dreamscape’s top dramas, thanks to the team’s vision. Did you know that directors Onat Diaz and Andoy Ranay were also part of Wildflower and The Broken Marriage Vow, respectively? Both of these projects featured two empowered women, and we surely hope to see this further in Dirty Linen

Effective execution

Besides the actors, the ones who make more magic happen are those in the pre and post production, too. The cinematography highlighted the emotions of characters, as well the secret clues in the series. That is thanks to Michael Jacinto, FSC;  Ronald Jacinto, FSC; and Dustin Uy. Editor Froilan Francia also elevated the transition of scenes, as well as the first opening break bumper, with Fiore Arena’s speed build clip. Of course, no thriller is effective without the crucial scoring. Idonnah Villarico and Rommel Villarico’s original scoring was effective in not just the thrilling parts, but with the dramatic scenes as well.
