Whether you’re staying in or flying out of the country, these Filipino-approved style tips will surely help you level up your fashion game.

From Milan, our eyes fly over to Paris for another round of sartorial spotting to witness the latest trends and releases of the biggest and most renowned fashion houses in the world.

At times, though, we find a certain disconnect when it comes these events because we don’t see any or at the very least, enough representation in relation to our weight or body shape, skin color, or race.

This is why spotting Filipinos in fashion shows really do allow us to make these events something to be proud of. We can finally see people like us, and take inspiration from their success and of course, their style. And instead of feeling alienated, we are hopeful for a world of fashion that is more open and inclusive to the beauty outside western standards.

With that said, here are five Filipino celebrities we’ve spotted at Paris Fashion Week, and some notable fashion tips we can learn from them:

Heart Evangelista

Heart‘s look for the Elie Saab show is just one of her on-point looks in Paris, but this particularly maximalist ensemble is a stand-out. Simple and plain easy-to-match pieces are generally what’s in these days, and they do help in building a reliable capsule wardrobe. However, there’s nothing wrong with getting a little creative when you’re out and about. Scared of looking too over-the-top? Choose soft prints like floral elements for a delicate yet standout touch. Take it from Heart who knows her way through fashion.

Dr. Vicki Belo

A queen whose reign extends to fashion and not just beauty, Vicki Belo‘s Paris ‘fits ace the glam department. Whether it’s shopping at Chanel or attending the Dior show, the chic physician’s weapon to looking elegant and sophisticated is tulle as the voluminous effect of its layering brings about regality. You might want to consider adding this texture as a closet staple for a date night or a formal event.

Bella Poarch

How to build an ensemble that will make you look taller? Trust the social media star on that! Mini skirts and dresses are perfect for petite girls like Bella to elongate your figure. But if you’re not used to rocking them, you can easily pair your skirt or dress with stockings or knee-high socks to ease your way into the mini trend.

Bryan Yambao

Where there is fashion, there is Bryan. Everywhere he goes, he is always sporting statement outerwear pieces that turn heads and get everyone talking. Even if coats and jackets are meant to be taken off, they’re the first determiner of our style, especially when zipped. As tempting as it sounds to stick with plain overclothes, a little experimentation with printed outerwear won’t hurt!

Bretman Rock

The baddest of them all continues his agenda of conquering the world—this time, through fashion. As Balmain’s pre-show host on TikTok, Bret donned a whole white number that mixed both structure and flow, as well as daintiness and loudness. Chunky footwear just like his may look intimidating at first glance, but it gives the illusion of slender ankles. And hey, the added height isn’t a bad thing, too!
