From the Biebers to Shawn and Camila, here are the couples who lit up the Met Gala red carpet

After the long wait, we finally saw the stars in their gorgeous Met Gala attires. Each of the guests came with their own creative interpretation of this year’s theme, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, which was a celebration, not only of American fashion, but of American independence as well. Many arrived in stateside labels such as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Zac Posen, but also in Louis Vuitton, Versace, Gucci, YSL, and more.

While many arrived solo, there were also beloved celebrity couples, who mixed and matched their looks to great effect. They proved that a well-dressed partner may just be the best accessory on the red carpet look. Here are some of the best dressed couples who graced Met Gala’s red carpet this year.

Justine and Hailey Bieber

The married couple opted for all-black attires for their first Met Gala appearance together. Hailey wore a floor-length gown with a plunging neckline by Saint Laurent, while Justin wore a suit by “la maison Drew”, as he called it (a reference to his streetwear label, Drew House). He completed the look with a pair of sneakers and a top handle bag with Drew House’ signature smiley-face symbol.
