New year, new you, and what better way to start off this year than with glowing and radiant skin

Out with the old and in with the new. The holiday season sure has been magical, but it’s now time to turn over a new leaf. One thing we can’t deny about entering a new year is how it gives us that sense of motivation because everything seems so brand new all of a sudden. Long lists of resolutions have been made and it’s just a matter of ticking boxes from here on out. Is your skin a part of it?

For this year, the Y.O.U Beauty PH team is sharing their skin care resolutions for brighter and healthier skin. Who knows, maybe one of these could inspire you to also add skin care to your new year’s resolutions.

Making sunscreen as part of your everyday routine

Adding sunscreen to your regimen is one way of strengthening your skin and protecting it from sun damage.
Lois Tagle, 24

When thinking of sunscreens, some probably associate it exclusively to beach days or only when you have to go outside. However, as long as it’s daytime, our skin is always exposed to harmful UV rays that can damage our skin and cause it to prematurely age, even when we’re indoors. In the comfort of our own rooms, sunscreen is still a must because blue light from smart devices we religiously use can cause damage by increasing the production of melanin that could lead to melanoma and cause age spots.

For Lois, she is now committed to using sunscreen daily, specifically the Y.O.U Beauty Triple UV Elixir. With SPF 50+, PA++++, it contains a broad spectrum of protection from UVA, UVB and blue light. Additionally, it has no white cast, making it an excellent choice for Filipino skin.

Start doing face massages

Formulated to reduce dark spots, this serum helps in achieving that flawless glow.
Samantha Cruz, 22

We’ve all been guilty of not having enough patience to let our skin care products fully absorb into our skin before layering a new one. For Samantha, she will now invest her time in doing face massages. Not only does it promote healthier skin and relaxes the muscles, but it also helps the face absorb products better.

One of the products Samantha will now incorporate into her facial massages is the Radiance Up! Antioxidant Serum. Infused with Symwhite 377 that is known for its brightening abilities, this serum is an effective way of lightening dark spots.

Understanding my skin care products

The Acneplus Low Ph Cleanser is gentle and perfect in helping acne prone skin.
Jrish Jimenez, 25

Choosing the right products for your skin can be overwhelming, especially with the oversaturated market of products along with countless skin care routines you see online. That’s the tricky part about skin care. What works for others might not work for you. “I’ve learned that the best way to achieve that glow from within is to understand the need of my skin,” Jrish shares. Once you find the right products that actually help your skin, only then will your routine be effective.

One of the non-negotiables from Jrish’s routine is cleansing with the Acneplus Low Ph Cleanser. Having a low Ph formula, it is gentle to the skin. It’s also formulated with Corn Mint Oil to refresh the skin and 4D Centella and Herbal Fusion Actives to soothe any redness and inflammation.

Adding eye cream in my skin care routine

Reduce the signs of aging with an eye cream that is gentle to that delicate skin around your eyes.
Jennika Casin, 27

It’s been known that the earliest signs of aging can be seen around the eye area. With the skin surrounding the eyes being much thinner than the rest of the face, it needs extra protection in order to retain that youthful glow. “Fine lines, dark circles, and puffy eyes. These are concerns that I feel make me look older than my age,” Jennika shares.

As part of her 2023 skin care resolutions, Jennika will be adding The Advanced Youth Recharging Peptide Eye Cream to her routine. It helps in reducing puffiness and fine lines since it’s infused with caffeine and Plantide X. The ceramic applicator also ensures a gentle application on that delicate area.

Staying hydrated and prioritizing moisturizers

Strengthen and protect your skin barrier with the Biomecera Advanced Booster Serum.
Mike Cabbo, 36

Hydration is one of the top priorities for your skin and the easiest way to do that is to drink water. Slow down on those sodas or coffee and remember to drink enough water for the day. Your skin will thank you for it. “As much as I love coffee, even I have to agree that water really improves your overall health, and of course has a lot of benefits for our skin. Keeping your skin hydrated makes your skin always at its best,” Mike expresses.

In order to step up his skin care game, Mike will now start prioritizing applying moisturizers and serums twice a day in order to get that supple and hydrated skin. To strengthen the skin barrier and also for that extra hydration, he will be adding the Y.O.U Beauty Biomecera Advanced Booster Serum to his skin care regimen. Another addition is the Y.O.U Beauty Radiance Up! Deep Moisturizing Cream to lock in moisture for that radiant glow.

After reflecting on the past year and learning from previous experiences, may this fresh start give you the strength to face each day with your head held up high. Confidently conquer your goals and resolutions for this year with radiant skin that glows from within.
