As we all know, Heart Evangelista-Escudero has been flying to various fashion weeks across the globe. She has been firing up social media with her ever-sophisticated posts—from what she was wearing and how she did her makeup, to where the real socialites eat in the most expensive cities in the world. But come to think it, what we still don’t know is her personal take on styling and life during fashion week. So here’s a closer look at Heart’s experience during Milan Fashion Week (MFW).

When Heart flew to Italy, her main agenda was to visit the home of the global luxury fashion brand, Salvatore Ferragamo. And as she was able to attend the Italian label’s fashion show for MFW as well as visit the Ferragamo Museum in Florence, Heart shared that she was truly amazed upon learning its history. “I love Ferragamo because they have such a rich and storied history, and it’s amazing how they’ve become still a very much celebrated brand,” she explained.
When the time came to attend the highly anticipated fashion show, our MEGA December cover star was ecstatic to be among other global stars such as South Korean actress and singer Krystal Jung, fellow style purveyors Hannah Quinlivan and Philippa Coulthard, and even Hollywood celebrities like Julianne Moore, Ellie Bamber, and Armie Hammer.
The Spring and Summer 2019 collection mesmerized the fashion faithful with a celebration of craftsmanship and innovative design, featuring pieces anchored on a more utilitarian trend. There were also casual suits and romantic silhouettes in neutral hues including biscuit, khaki-fatigue, and parchment that were accentuated with bolder colors like cerulean, emerald and brilliant fuchsia.
Since Heart is a loyal patron of the Italian brand, our favorite style inspiration has a special place for Salvatore Ferragamo in her heart and life. “In truth, I grew up [familiar] with Ferragamo because my mom and [grandmother] owned pieces. I remember receiving my first pair—they were flats—from my mom when I was in my teens. And recently, I had given my stepdaughter her first pair. So you could say I have a unique bond with the brand,” Heart enthusiastically shared.
As a true Ferragamo girl, Heart loved several pieces from the recent collection—from the scarves to the dresses, down to the boots and bags. But she particularly loved the refined color palette and the exquisite details and craftsmanship which Ferragamo is known for. All the designs were chic and timeless, impeccably fitting her style.
However, more than the dresses and shoes, she was really drawn to the array of covetable bags that were presented during MFW. “The shape of Ferragamo bags is very chic and can easily transition from day to night. They’re practical and versatile as they are elegant so you can wear them with almost anything,” Heart reasoned.
Handpicked by Kevin Kwan as a stunning style purveyor of “Crazy Rich Asian” status, Heart shared a tip to achieve an effortlessly sophisticated look. “I think today, rules in fashion no longer apply. It’s just how you carry yourself. If you feel good, it’ll look good. It’s how you style it and carry it with confidence. Be yourself and your confidence will shine through 100%,” she emphasized.
