‘Tis the season to dress up and make a statement indeed. And what better way to get into the spirit of things than with H&M’s early holiday surprise for everyone? In a pleasantly surprising move, the retail brand strikes a winning collaboration with Colombian designer, Johanna Ortiz, making a first for anyone of Latin American descent. Synonymous to Johanna Ortiz’s brand of feminine dressing, the line features an array of flamboyant color palette, exotic floral prints, and glamorous silhouettes whether you would like to don an elegant piece for your day-to-night occasion.

While the main collection will officially unveil on March 2020, an exclusive pre-drop of four distinct dress styles are coming to selected H&M stores this December 3. The pre-drop’s tunic dress, wrap dress, mini-dress, and tiered floor-length style lets you opt for a style which is both flirtatious and effortless.

“The aim was to create a collection that captured festivity, elegance, and effortlessness and was true to my brand DNA,” shares Johanna Ortiz. Bringing Ortiz’s archive—Wild Roses, Orchid Paradise, Cacatua, and Conquelicots into another form of aesthetic, the four exotic floral prints comes in warm yellow, dusty pink, forest green-printed, and color-infused dark brown.

Johanna elevates the floral pieces with subtle ruffles, rippling cuff, and intricately-detailed hem. “The prints all come from my obsession with flowers, palm tress, and beautiful colors to which I see when I look out the window as I wake up at my home in Cali,” adds Johanna. And, as how the Colombian designer sees the wearer of these dresses, each of them are accessorized with lavish earrings and star bag or Colombian mochilla, styled with beach hair, and simplified with minimal sandals.

H&M x Johanna Ortiz womenswear collection is available at hm.com and at selected H&M stores: SM Megamall, SM Makati, Robinsons Ermita, SM North Edsa, SM Mall of Asia, Ayala Center Cebu, Greenbelt Makati, Ayala Malls Feliz, and Festival Supermall Alabang on December 3.
