8 Filipino Artists That Have Made It In International Festivals

If there’s one thing that unites us all in the country, it’s the sense of Pinoy pride we feel when someone of our heritage gets recognized in the international music stage.

Music is what binds all of us Filipinos together and that reigns true when a fellow Pinoy gets acknowledged and praised around the world. It’s evident in the viral videos of Filipino singers who compete in international shows. American Idol, The Voice, The X Factor–all of those shows have at least one video with millions of views because of a Pinoy wow-ing the judges.

Of course, it’s already an achievement on its own to be performing for your own people, but we’re all the more proud when we see them prosper outside of our country. Aside from Filipinos who compete in international shows, we list down all the Filipino artists who have made it in international festivals and making our country proud by their music and talent.

The first essential event on the music industry calendar, the SXSW Music Festival takes place March 16 to 22, 2020 in Austin, Texas, and Kiana Valenciano has been chosen to be one of the performers.
