Fall/Winter 2023 News: The Menswear Trend Report

It’s definitely a great start of the year as designers prepped the stage for their Fall/Winter collections in the menswear category. A few shows already presented their line of pieces and it’s safe to say that Fall/Winter has a mix of different trends.

While some decided to continue with their signature codes, there were others who pushed the boundaries of gender norms with their chosen style elements. To guide you through the themes, we rounded five trends we spotted in these collections.

Drop Shoulders

Drop shoulders can give one’s figure that extra buff. As seen on Gucci and Fendi, their use of drop shoulders easily elevated a simple jacket, and we can’t deny the added comfort it has when worn.

Dainty Layers

Whether it’s a cardigan or scarf, it’s definitely a charming way to layer their outfit. Fendi’s use of the knitwear is more on the edgy side, as seen on the sweater-scarf combo. Meanwhile, Prada kept it classic with the usual button down cardigan.

Dynamic Duos

While colors during Fall/Winter aren’t new in the game, fashion still finds a way to offer them in different styles each season. This time around, pops of color have made appearances in the upcoming collections of brands like Gucci and JW Anderson.

Statement Outerwear

Granted, there are times when menswear clothes were on the safe side, but fashion houses like Fendi and JW Anderson took it up a notch with their embellished, furred up, and vibrant outerwear.

Billowed Out

We’ve seen this trend on womenswear, so we’re not surprised to see it in the men’s category as well. From coats, sweaters, to trousers—the oversized silhouette might not go anywhere anytime soon.
