A fun and playful music video for a beautiful song, here’s everything you missed in BTS’ music video “Permission To Dance.

BTS continues to prove they’re unstoppable—thanks to their talent, charm, charisma, and of course, the BTS Army. If you need any more proof of their global domination, their new music video “Permission To Dance” got 11 million views just an hour after its release—a feat only the group BTS has achieved.

Of course, like the rest of the world, we were also glued to our screens watching the music video as it premiered this morning. And after watching it, only one word came to mind: Wow. Co-written by Ed Sheeran, Permission To Dance is an upbeat and happy song that might just be everyone’s new favorite. And, the music video is no different.

A song about hope for a future where Covid-19 no longer exists, the music video was everything we wanted and more. Beginning the video with a waitress serving pancakes and butter (an ode to their latest single Butter), everything that follows is all fun, playful, and hopeful.

In the music video, BTS sends a message of hope for a pandemic free future. “The song spreads the message that you don’t need permission to dance to your heart’s content, dedicated to anyone who is having a bad day or is discouraged in the face of reality,” an Army shared on Twitter.

The video also championed diversity and inclusivity, with people from different generations, races, and classes dancing to the song. One of the most significant parts of the video was when people started taking their masks off, signaling the end of the pandemic—a moment we’re all hoping for. A fan on Twitter even shared, “Those mask-removing scenes of Permission To Dance felt hopeful & liberating. It’s warming to reminisce the days when we were not scared of going out outside, and it’s sanguine to think of the day that we’ll be able to see each other’s uncovered smiles again.”

At the end, BTS members, Jimin, RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, V, and Jungkook, danced with all the crew members for their music video shoot—a beautiful way to end the music video.
