With more and more Pinoy talents going global, another emerging Filipino designer joins the fold as RC Caylan showcases his stunning collection in NYFW yet again.
From whatever the spectrum of the fashion you figure yourself in, it isn’t easy to get a slot in NYFW, let alone showcase your collection. So, if you get a chance to do so, your work must be of high caliber. In the case of Filipino designer RC Caylan, he was blessed enough to do a show in New York Fashion Week not just once or twice, but thrice already.
Apart his triumph of three shows in NYFW, he has also dressed international celebrities, such as Emmy Award winner Anne Winters to multiple Grammy Award winner Carries Underwood. After all, RC’s really known for offering a wide array of creations ranging from red carpet dresses, bridal gowns, and even his menswear.
According to RC, contemporary fashion trends play a very important role in his creations, but he doesn’t stop there. He makes sure that he puts his own unique magic touch on every project of his, which translates to brilliantly converting pieces to classy, sophisticated and elegant creations that he is proud to call his own. “Execution is far better than the design itself,” shares RC to MEGA, which is his never-changing objective when designing. So, while he understands that he is still an emerging brand, he regularly seeks out opportunities to broaden his knowledge.
The emerging designer believes that being dynamic is essential for his creations. RC treats each day as a new day that consistently spells new trends, influences, colors, and styles. In addition to that, he is the type of designer who’s very meticulous, striving to bring out only the best on every project, tackling only the most intricate detail before he can finally call it a masterpiece. The result are works that are evocative as it is of world-class quality.
So, for his third NYFW show, he channels the ever-dauntless woman and named it “mode éclectique.” His Spring/Summer 2020 collection is about a woman who doesn’t have a fear of showing who she is: fearless and sassy, yet exudes sophistication.
There are 16 looks in his newest collection. Although, he was only able to showcase half of it at the recent NYFW last September 6 at Pier59 studios mounted by Flying SOLO NYC. And even if that was the case, all of his eight pieces surely caught the attention of the crowd—all thanks to his uber-feminine silhouettes and the striking details he incorporated. Which is just perfect because a true RC Caylan woman is confident, empowered, and definitely loves to party.
