Gone are the days when we solely rely on fast-fashion brands to look fashionable. These days, more and more women are opting to buy from designers’ ready-to-wear lines. Having fun and quirky aesthetic for his designs, Paolo amps up the everyday style of Filipina women. According to him, it has always been art per se that guided him in creating such astonishing pieces.
“This might sound cliché, but [it’s] usually art. Paintings, movies, books, music, and even video games,” Paolo explains to MEGA. “So when something strikes me as interesting, I like to explore its ethos and play from there.”
Perhaps we may well assume that’s why even if he’s still starting, we already witnessed Maymay Entrata donning one of his pieces. In fact, when the teen sensation wore a hot pink tube top with a bow shoulder accent paired with cigarette pants, she looked impeccably stunning—all whilst making a case for luxe casual fashion.
After all, he defines a Paolo Miguel Woman as someone “who likes to have fun and doesn’t take herself too seriously. She’s not dressing up to impress someone, she’s dressing up for herself.”
6 Years In The Making
Back in 2013, when Paolo made a Terno for her aunt, the duo has always been toying with the possibility of starting a designer brand. Although, the young designer explained that time and commitment have always been the obstacle in bringing the label into fruition.
Until July 2019, the Paolo Miguel brand was finally launched. After 6 years of waiting, Paolo, together with his aunt Jihan Jaafar, decided to start this year. “Everything seemed to line up and it felt like the ‘now’ is perfect,” Paolo expounded.
So now that he is able to finally launch his label together with his online boutique, it seems like we can now also exude the same sophistication like one of our style stars, Maymay Entrata. Come to think of it, all the eight styles available online are meticulously crafted one by one. Hence, you’ll undoubtedly feel your best as you make your way through the metropolis.
And apart from his ready-to-wear garments, he also accepts made-to-measure pieces. Whether it’s a bridal gown, a sophisticated dress, or a luxe casual ensemble, nothing shall ever stop Paolo Jaafar in making your visions into a reality.
