Fresh from her Best Supporting Performance win at the LA Film Critics Awards, Dolly De Leon also claims nominations for the Golden Globes and Satellite Awards
The talent of Filipinos is the gift that keeps on giving here and abroad. From sold-out concerts to juror inclusions, this year has shown that we can conquer the world. This time, it’s actress Dolly De Leon who gets her well-fitting international acclaim.
A deserving recognition
Recently, the actress has received back-to-back recognition and even a win for her role as Abigail in the movie, Triangle of Sadness. The Los Angeles Film Critics Association named De Leon the Best Supporting Performer alongside Everything Everywhere All at Once actor, Ke Huy Quan.

She also bagged three nominations for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in three other award-giving bodies, such as 4th DiscussingFilm Critics Awards, International Press Academy Satellite Awards, and the Golden Globe Awards.

As of writing, De Leon is the first Filipino actress to receive this nomination at the Golden Globes.

Dolly’s acting mission
When asked about her consecutive achievements, the actress shared, “It’s an honor and a privilege to be recognized by critics who think outside the box and recognize the artistry of film-making. I’m proud to represent every individual who is struggling in their chosen industry, much like Abigail.”
She further said, “Every single soul who’s watched the film would know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, go out and find out. It’s still in cinemas dito sa ‘tin. Para sa’tin ‘to.”
“I’m honored to be finally seen. Sa buong bayan, sa bawat Pilipino dito at overseas na lumalaban araw-araw, sa mga nawawalan ng pag-asa. Hindi ako mag-isa dito. Magkakasama tayo.”
Dolly De Leon on her Golden Globes nomination
Triangle of Sadness is still showing in 11 Metro Manila Cinemas: Ayala Malls the 30th, Ayala Vertis, Bonifacio High Central, Fisher Mall Q.C., Gateway, Glorietta, Greenbelt, Trinoma, Power Plant Makati, Greenhills, and Cinema ‘76. The movie will also have a limited run at the Cinematheque Centres of the Film Development Council of the Philippines in Manila, Iloilo, Davao, Bacolod City, and Nabunturan, Davao de Oro on December 15 at 6:00 p.m., December 16 at 6:30 p.m., and December 18 at 2:00 p.m.
