The line that includes her “Vavabloom Lashes by Pong Niu” and “Hush Brush” makeup brush cleaner.

“I love defining eyes that’s why I chose to venture into lash business and with it, I was able to explore my artistry,” she proudly says. Even with her high caliber status as an artist, working with Niu you can always expect that she’ll always give the utmost respect to the people she works with. And this translates to her brand–providing a wide range of faux strip styles so that users have the freedom to choose. “I have 10 styles, single strands and double strands. The single strands are made from 100% human hair and for the double strands, some of them are made out of high-quality synthetic fibers. You can choose depending on your mood,” she explains.

Her main muse who’s famous for her piercing stare, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shares how their collaboration is the perfect match. “Every makeup artist has their signature style and hers is really eyes and I also think my asset is my eyes,” she laughs as we chat while she gets glammed up for the shoot. “Every time I sit on her makeup chair, I just let her do her thing. It’s very rare, I don’t think I ever requested anything specific. I just let her do her magic on me.” Having tried the lashes on her own, she tells a story of how applying the right pair can make the difference. “It adds drama and just completes the look,” Wurtzbach excitingly says as Niu timely puts on the lashes as the finishing touch. “Makeup is play. Makeup is supposed to be fun, there are no rules,” Wurtzbach tells me and looks at Niu as she adds, “It’s an art.”

Here are a few tips on how to use Pong Niu’s lash line to achieve a statement eye look:

LOOK WITHIN

How to achieve a natural cat-eye? It starts by learning your facial structure. Similar to a hairstyle, fake eyelashes have to match your face shape so if you’re looking for an easy feline flick in seconds to lift the face, go for a half lash in the outer corner.

EYE TO EYE

A crucial step in making sure fake eyelashes look as real as possible is taking your black eyeliner to seamlessly blend the band to your lash line and curling it all together.

KILLER STARE

Treat your lashes as the final piece of accessory. Especially with intense eyeshadows and dark lips, choosing the right full voluminous strip can make or break the look.

SEEING DOUBLE

Inspired by the daring time of the roaring twenties, long lashes are paired with dark heart-shaped lips for the ultimate glam look.
