Get ready for more Asian-style glitz and glamour because Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu and the rest of the cast of everyone’s current favorite film are coming back for another movie!
Chu revealed that the team really wanted the sequel to happen, “We would love to, of course — we wouldn’t put that in if we didn’t have the intention (to make a sequel). However, we don’t get to decide — the audience does.”

Warner Bros. has yet to give the green light due to standard practices. However, reports say that the sequel is now under early development. Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim were asked to come back for the sequel’s screenplay but the two have yet to confirm.
The second film might revolve around Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) and her engagement and eventual wedding to Nick Young (Henry Golding). Rumors say that the next film will give more screen time to characters that weren’t fully developed in the first film.
This sequel can only mean more fashion moments for our favorite characters! We already fell in love with many couture designers in the first movie. Notable names include Christian Dior, Marchesa, Valentino, Carven Ong, and Michael Cinco. It’s too early to tell, however, which fashion designers and celebrities will appear in the next film.
