“I like the increase in diversity we are seeing in the modeling industry. It now focuses on body confidence,” Christina points out.

Traveling may be a part of it, but Christina has a personal connection with the country. “I just can’t get enough of the Philippines because I love the people, the culture, and I really did grow up very Filipino because I actually spent the summers of my youth in Legazpi City in Albay,” she shares. “Sunsilk commercials were always on the TV. I aspired to have that bouncy shiny Filipino hair like the models!”
She mentions Siargao as her favorite place, with its surf scene and the nicest community she has ever met. “Being in the sun makes me so happy!”
It’s also important to look after your skin so I always wear SPF. Naturally, I’m somewhat fair-skinned as my dad is Irish; but I love being tan. Morena skin is beautiful!

Christina’s principle on beauty is something that she lives by every day, and she makes sure that she values the beauty of her work as well. When asked about the lesson she has learned from her first shoots and bookings, she answers, “[You have] to be professional and friendly. The industry is small and you often work with the same people multiple times so it’s good to network and make friends along the way. I was always taught to be humble, work hard and to be grateful for what I have.”
Aside from this, the model offers a piece of advice for those who also want to take on the path she has traversed.
Hard work pays off and anything is possible. You should always stay true to yourself, and don’t be afraid to say no to jobs you are not comfortable with or that do not fit your brand. Be confident and don’t worry about expectations.
