Remembering His Legacy—Celebrate Avicii Through His Music

By

The Swedish DJ and producer passed away at the young age of 28 and the whole industry is mourning. The musician has left everyone with chart-toppers with known collaborators such as Rita Ora, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and Madonna.
Avicii was one the names that introduced EDM to the whole world in 2009. Avicii rose up the charts with his song “Levels” which later became one of his Grammy-nominated hits. On 2013, he won the American Music Awards for Favorite Electronic Dance Music Artist.
There’s no better way to celebrate the legacy of one of the pioneers in the industry than through his music. Check out five of the many party-anthems Avicii has left for us to celebrate him and life with:

Levels

Released in 2011, “Levels” was Avicii’s breakout hit. The track samples “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” by Etta James, her vocals included. It’s the perfect song to rock out to when stress gets in the way of you, as shown in its music video.

X You

The world’s first “crowd-sourced” song. Avicii envisioned the song to be everyone’s song as he started the project of the same name. In the music video, we see Avicii working on the many submissions to create one symphony that brought together lovers of the genre.

Waiting For Love

A collaboration with DJ Martin Garrix, “Waiting For Love” is a familiar track that got us jumping up and down in many rave parties. It was once and will always be everyone’s favorite bittersweet EDM anthem of hope and love.

Wake Me Up

Six-time platinum smash hit “Wake Me Up” took the whole world by the storm in 2013. Featuring the vocals of Aloe Blacc, the song peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Lonely Together

One of Avicii’s last hits before his passing, “Lonely Together” was his second single from his Billboard Music Awards-nominated EP, Avīci (01). It features Rita Ora on vocals with the distinct Avicii style of music we all loved.
