Catriona Gray’s Scene-Stealing Looks For the Miss Universe Extravaganza

By

To celebrate with the Miss Universe Organization, Catriona Gray returned to where she won the crown in 2018—Bangkok, Thailand

With every ensemble that Catriona wears at any type of event, it’s no secret that she can be a scene-stealer every time she enters a room. Her presence has this undeniable effect, even during The Miss Universe Extravaganza in Thailand, where she was also joined by former Miss Universe titleholders and the JKN Global Group CEO Anne Jakrajutatip. The event was organized to introduce the Miss Universe Organization under new leadership and to solidify a special bond among beauty queens from all over the universe.

Below, we listed three of the looks Catriona wore for the grand event.

Red Kimono

Starting off her Thailand trip in full swing, Catriona Gray donned a traditional yet modernized version of the Japanese kimono from the Bunteduffem collection by Cebuano designer Robert Andrew Hiyas.  The garment was made out of silk fabric with intricate patterns of black and white sequins on both sleeves. A clothing masterpiece where traditional meets mod culture, Catriona’s look features a deep neckline with high slits on both sides, which highlighted the former Miss Universe’s flawless physique.

Vibrant Filipiniana

Catriona graced the stage of the Miss Universe event in her colorful filipiñiana dress, proudly representing the Philippines. Her Atelier-Pisyabit Filipinana garb with a sash-like train was created by Filipino designer Jearson D. The colors present in the train were dark purple and bright pink, while multi-colored elements on the dress were inspired by the famous habi, a handwoven textile in the Philippines.

Black crystalized gown

For her gala dinner look, she served sophistication and a powerful aura by wearing a long evening gown with crystals on the bodice. Also featured in Catriona’s look is a custom-made emerald green headpiece created by Manny Halasan, and conceptualized by Jelly Eugenio and Catriona herself, which brought her evening look to a whole new level of refined beauty.

Present also at the gala dinner were former Miss Universe titleholdersMiss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes of Angola, Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico, Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova of Canada, former Miss Universe Spain 2018 Angela Ponce; Miss Universe Thailand 2020 Amanda Obdam, and reigning Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu of India.

CEO of JKN Global Group Anne Jakrajutatip and the Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart were at the event as well.
