Called Frosted Firework for Holiday 2020, it’s definitely lighting up our hearts. In one of the photos, the K-Pop superstar is seen wearing iridescent, shimmery eye shadow and a deep, rosy red lip—definitely a festive holiday look. In another, she dons a glitter-accented graphic eye and a gorgeous, ginger matte lip. Lisa is clearly putting her own spin to the typical holiday makeup and we’re totally on board with it. From the soft matte skin, playful use of glitter and bold yet feminine choice of colors, this collection has legs for the new year and beyond.

In another exclusive, MEGA got to interview M·A·C Global Creative Director Drew Elliott. The one-time editor-in-chief of Paper Magazine (he was responsible for the controversial, internet-breaking editorial of Kim Kardashian à la Grace Jones) reveals M·A·C’s new role in this new age of beauty and—of course—how it was like working with a global phenomenon like Lisa.

What kind of conversation does MAC want to have with Lisa’s fans or to the genre’s audience? 

As the first female K-pop idol to be appointed as M·A·C’s Global Brand Ambassador title, we’ll be working with Lisa through a long-term partnership to educate and inspire consumers with Lisa’s look and how to achieve it. Lisa also likes to say that “beauty is confidence,” so we’ll be discussing how beauty can come from one’s inner-self and attitude.


How was it like to work with Lisa? How hands on was she with the look, the products, and the shoot? 

Lisa was an absolute dream to work with and the perfect muse for the brand. Not only is she incredibly sweet and down to earth, she embodies an aesthetically fierce yet approachable style that truly resonates with M·A·C’s DNA and we’re so proud to bring to life through this collaboration. She’s been working in close partnership with M·A·C makeup artists to capture her signature looks, beauty secrets, skincare regimens, and lifestyle, which we look forward to showcasing with M·A·C fans in the weeks and months to come.


What does Lisa bring to MAC’s iconic group of ambassadors? How is she similar and how is she different? 

When you look at M·A·C’s past collaborators, no matter where in the world they come from, they all share a core ethos of self-confidence and a strong point of view. They all come from different walks of life but all share this in common.

What are the key trends/looks that Lisa has generated that you are personally excited about?

Lisa has an elevated yet highly approachable and wearable style that we had such a blast working with her to bring the collaboration to life. When she’s on stage, she tends to glam up her look with impactful eye makeup, red lip, and glitters. But she can also just as easily slay in a more everyday, natural look. This versatility gave us a constant source of inspiration which we look forward to showcasing throughout this partnership.

How does your editorial experience come into play in your new role? How does it affect your choice of personalities to collaborate with? 

M·A·C, as a true culture brand, has always done a great job aligning itself with fierce tastemakers like Lisa who aren’t afraid to break the mold and express themselves in entirely unique ways to we can create conversations and trends together that are larger than beauty. I use my editorial experience to cultivate identify and cultivate those powerhouse relationships that will elevate the brand even further.

What can we expect from this partnership in the future? 

As MAC’s Global Brand Ambassador, Lisa will be the face of MAC’s renowned collections and key campaigns, as well as the muse for the brand’s exciting innovation projects.
