While their hit single How You Like That keeps on playing in the background, let’s not overlook how the phenomenal K-pop girl group, Blackpink epitomizes French luxury houses to the global fashion scene.

Blackpink is once again in our area and there are no better words to describe them than the revolution that they always have been. This remains true after their latest hit song, How You Like That, broke a YouTube record when the music video reached over a hundred million views in a short span following its release. Also, it hasn’t been long since Blackpink collaborated with Lady Gaga for the song Sour Candy under Gaga’s newest album, Chromatica

Apart from their catchy hit songs and snappy choreographies, Blackpink’s fashion sense are definitely worth mentioning, too. Their chic and charismatic get-ups are sure head-turners, getting a lot of attention from Blinks and even from the non-fans. This has set the precedent for luxury brands to tap each Blackpink member as their new face—Rosé for Yves Saint Laurent, Jennie for Chanel, Jisoo for Dior, and Lisa for Celine.

Slaying Chanel from top to toe, Jennie was hailed as the “Human Chanel.” Among all the Blackpink members, Jennie was the first to be tapped by a French brand. Jennie then became the brand ambassador and face of the brand’s cosmetics line, Chanel Beauty Korea. Matching Jennie’s chic and contemporary fashion choices, she perfectly resembles the trademark of Chanel. During Paris Fashion Week last year, Jennie was invited to sit in the front row with Cardi B at the Chanel show. Wearing a casual yet sophisticated purple cardigan and jeans, the Blackpink’s main rapper was truly a standout.

Recently, Blackpink’s lead vocalist Rosé made noise on social media with her breathtaking monochromatic shoot for Saint Laurent under the direction of David Sims which was published to officially announce her as their newest global face. In Saint Laurent’s campaign with the Blackpink member, Rosé wears a black lace mini-dress from creative director Anthony Vacarello’s fall 2020 collection, complemented with knee-high boots on one of the shots and leopard-printed long sleeves and trousers on the others. Some fans took a hint to this great event when Rosé made her front row debut during Saint Lurent’s spring show last September.

Accounting as another major announcement, French luxury brand Celine tapped Blackpink’s main dancer Lisa as a star of the brand’s newest campaign headed by Celine’s artistic director Hedi Slimane, which was photographed in Paris. Also shot in black and white, Lisa sports an edgy and charming image wearing leather jacket and sequinned cardigan respectively. In case you missed it, this wasn’t the first encounter of Lisa and Hedi. Lisa attended as a front row guest at Hedi Slimane’s Spring/Summer 2020 Celine show and effortlessly, her beauty and style have become scene-stealers.

Meanwhile, Blackpink Jisoo’s endearing features was easily noticed by Dior Beauty, instantly making her the new ambassador. Flaunting her glass skin and gorgeous Dior shades in every photoshoot, Jisoo perfectly embodies the beauty brand’s signature products. Jisoo surely wouldn’t have missed the Dior pop-up opening in Gangnam-gu, Seoul where she was spotted wearing black and green jumpsuit with matching fringed skirt, black saddle belt, slingback pump, saddle bag in green calfskin, all from Dior’s classic pieces.

From record-breaking releases to collaboration with French luxury houses, Blackpink has indeed reached greater heights since their much-awaited comeback. I guess there’s really something about these talented, beautiful, and stylish ladies that makes us want to adore them more.
