“My love for PR and marketing began when I was studying and living in New York. I fell in love with public relations after a couple internships and jobs working for PR departments of fashion brands. However, being open to new experiences brought me to the world of beauty when I moved back to the Philippines and started my job with Beauty Bar, SSI,” says 31 year old Nikki Martel. “I was able to use everything I learned doing fashion PR and applied it to the world of beauty. Beauty has become so prominent in the last few years and I feel privileged to be in an industry where there are always new, innovative things and concepts to discover.”
Nikki’s job in public relations means her days are never the same. And she prefers it that way. Before heading to the office, the beauty likes to begin each day with a workout. “It really helps in setting the right tone for my whole day, keeps my mind clear and focused and gives me great energy.” Then she works on her various responsibilities, most of which are in events and PR, like coordinating with press for requests, pull outs, or choosing products for features. “Other times, my hand is full conceptualizing, planning, coordinating, and executive events which I love the most. I love working with different people,” she says.

Traveling is Nikki’s way to recharge and refresh herself amid her busy PR life. “It is also a major factor to have great relationships with your boss, colleagues, and other work friends. When I need a boost, there is nothing like family or friends to turn to. A nice intimate gathering with some friends or a quick getaway with a few friends always helps to keep a fresh new perspective.”

What’s your skincare routine? I like to keep it simple with a face wash, serum and moisturizer.
What can’t you live without? Travel, a striking red lip stick, and statement earrings to complete a look.

Who does your hair? I normally do my hair myself since I am always on-the-go, but I do get pampered in the salon for those special occasions. However, I must say that everything starts with a great haircut. I swear by Suyen Salazar,who works magic whenever I have her cut or style my hair.
How do you like to style or wear your hair on a daily basis? It really depends on my mood. I can have it in a lazy bun, a high pony tail or have my hair straight down.
How do you keep fit? Fitness is an essential factor in my daily life. For a while now I have been addicted to Pilates, Circuit Training, Barre and currently, my new favorite is Muay Thai.
