Channel your inner Bollywood star with the Aquazzura’s Latest Spring/Summer collection inspired by the country that serves as home to the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world.
An impactful trip to Rajasthan (India’s largest state) was all it took for Edgardo Osorio, founder and creative director of Aquazzura to create his label’s latest collection that takes a page from its precious embroideries, the textures and the vivid colors of the Country’s traditional Saris.
The collection also features sparkly elements from India’s world-class jewelries and extravagant stones which they consider as “precious metals.” The Rendez Vous styles inspired by the famous Indian gold bangles, and the Gem Palace Mule and Sandal are inspired by the Maharanis of Rajasthan. Its crafted in Italy from silky satin in delicate azalea pink.
Aquazzura puts the spotlight on vibrant shades of red, pink and yellow amongst various styles which is reminiscent of India’s colorful street parties. It’s always a celebration of color wherever you go in India. Holi anyone? The style features skin bearing, teardrop shaped cutouts at the heel and is finished with cascading floral details to the side.
India is also known to be the birthplace of religions such as Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. Aquazzura merges its traditional roots and adds a contemporary twist to a few lace-up styles. The Mumbai gladiator sandal features multiple looped straps running across the foot.
India is one of the largest bead-producing countries in the world as referenced on the ‘Illusion Sandal.’ The pair is crafted from smooth calf leather in fresh white, and is adorned with eye-catching, round metallic studs.
Indian jewelry is as old as its civilization, with the earliest designs being discovered in the Indus Valley’s ruins. The Rendez Vous mule also doubles as a statement piece and is highly inspired by “Paizeb,” a traditional type of anklet which they popularized.
Aquazzura is exclusively available in Rustan’s.
