A clear idea can be envisioned from the fragrance’s bottles alone, as this latest iteration sees the iconic Light Blue bottle silhouette maintained with a touch of reinvention, drawing shades of radiant turquoise, luminous blue and gleaming gold accents, all reminiscent of the sunny Mediterranean coast.
As with all Dolce & Gabbana campaigns, Light Blue Forever is accompanied by a stimulating thirty-second film directed by Steven Brahms and shot by the Morelli brothers; all of which take place in the soaring Faraglioni cliffs of Capri. Starring Bianca Balti and David Gandy, this new chapter bathes the couple in an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy, as the filmmakers attempt to capture the cherished moments of everlasting love.
Where the sky meets the sea
No less than two world-class perfumers lent their noses as the main authors of the latest Light Blue chapter. Acclaimed master perfumer Olivier Cresp—the creator of the original Light Blue eau de toilette—crafted the Light Blue Forever Pour Femme, while Light Blue Forever Pour Homme was created by the Shyamala Maisondieu.
Envisioning a sunny, sensual, and feminine fragrance that resembles the long summer days by the Mediterranean Sea, Cresp’s concoction begins with a duet of crisp Granny Smith apple and tangy Calabrian lemon top notes accompanied by a zesty combination of sun-drenched orange blossoms and white flowers and musk. The scent finishes with a signature trail of Virginia cedar and cashmere woods.

Maisondeau, on the other hand, took a different approach in the creation of the Light Blue Forever Pour Homme, as she aimed to redefine the interpretation of freshness for men. By focusing on balancing intensity and lightness, Maisondeau crafted a scent that is both generous and addictive; starting with cold-pressed grapefruit zest and Italian bergamot notes sprinkled by an invigorating taste of violet leaf and the refreshing azure of ozonic accord. The scent trail is then topped off by a woody base of magnetic white musks and earthy tropical vetiver, creating an irresistible and enduring sensuality in a sharp play of contrasts.
