Limited-edition watches are a great example of a timeless and shimmering gift for this Christmas. With a lil’ help from Swiss watch brand, Swatch, we learn how to shop for timepieces.
There’s nothing that can dull our spirits, especially when Christmas is just a few weeks away. To complete our holiday looks, Swatch released bright and brilliant watches with flaunting shimmering straps and around 150 sparkles that illuminate each dial. A watch is one of the ultimate presents to give because it’s a daily reminder of the person who gifted it to you. It’s a way of telling someone that you want to spend time with them and want to be present in their everyday life.
To celebrate their holiday campaign, Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Matteo Guidicelli unveiled Swatch’s Special HoHoOuch holiday watch last December 4 at the brand’s store in Greenbelt 5. The store also displays their full holiday collection so you can see for yourself which watch you can wrap up and put under the Christmas tree.
Styling your Christmas countdown, here are top tips on what watch to get for your loved ones:
Women love layering jewelry with a timepiece, so a smaller face with a thinner strap is ideal to avoid over-accessorizing. Opt for smaller and thinner sizes such as the of Gent watches from Swatch, namely the Multimono and the Sparklingot. They both still give elegant high shine despite its size because the sparkle isn’t only evident in the face but on its strap as well. Multimono features a pink silicone strap that’s fireworks-inspired while the Sparklingot is surrounded by gold-colored glitter and a crystal ring on the dial.
Other small face variations are the Irony watches which comes in a shiny rose-gold and a shiny gold-colored fabric-like bracelets. This is perfect for those who prefers a classic look.
On the opposite end, if you’re gifting it to someone who’s not afraid to stand out with extra glitter, the Grey Sparkle and Rose Sparkle comes in a shiny silver-color or a shiny red fabric bracelet.
If you want the best of both the classics and the dramatic, the new Irony Goldshiny and Silver Explosion is an attention grabber. It comes in a sparkling gold-colored stainless steel or silver-colored stainless steel.
But you can never go wrong with diamonds which are a girl’s best friend. The Big Bold Sparkles watches in Light Boreal and Dark Boreal, are the ultimate celebration must-haves with its 136 Swarovski stones.
Men often use their watch as their statement piece to complement their outfit, so why not go big and bold to achieve a dashing look. Swatch’s special and limited edition, Big Bold Chrono design is a sure confidence booster. It’s a combination of empowerment and sparkle that comes in a gold-colored dial with a large and sturdy watch face. With its statement-making head, the strap is kept sleek with checkpoint grid straps. Additionally, through the chronograph functions, it has the power to manage time itself to help the wearer stand tall and proud.
For The Young Ones:
Santa crash-landed just in time to remind everybody that now is the season to spend time with your loved ones. With a whimsical touch to its design, the HoHoOuch watch features Santa in his red outfit and minimalistic indices, which stands out against the white dial. It is paired with a matching transparent snow-printed strap so that it could be an additional playful accessory to a chunky red, white, and green holiday sweater.
If you’re wondering how Santa is doing after his crash, you can also visit him at the Swatch Building on 918 Arnaiz Avenue, Makati. Inspired by the brand’s playful season special watch, the Swatch Philippines team created a unique Santa Crash Landing interactive Christmas installation. It shares a quirky holiday spirit that’s worthy of a good laugh for the whole family.
