Consider yourself lucky that you get to even stay at home because there are others who have to leave their houses to survive the quarantine. While you use this time to start being productive, you also need to set aside a time to chill and take a break from work. Invite your friends to join these apps and websites so you will feel as if you aren’t miles away from each other.

Netflix Party Chrome Extension

Are you feeling lonely watching Netflix by yourself? Now, you don’t have to. Netflix Party is a Chrome extension for watching Netflix remotely with friends. It will synchronize your screens and add a group chat so you can discuss your thoughts.

  1. Download and install the Netflix Party extension.
  2. Launch Netflix on your PC and go to the movie or TV show you want to watch with your buddies.
  3. You should see an “NP” icon next to the Chrome address bar. Click on it.
  4. Finally, click on Start Party, and then you can send the URL to your fellow quarantine friends.

Kast, formerly known as Rabbit

Similar to Netflix Party, Kast is a streaming app where you can synchronize your screens with your friends while watching a movie. Kast isn’t limited to Netflix, though. Just head to your preferred streaming website and host a watch party. You can also start a group video call, so you can watch each other’s reactions while watching movies! Here’s a detailed instruction on how to host a watch party on Kast.

Rave

Rave is the app if you want to watch on the go. It lets you watch Netflix movies and shows, YouTube, Vimeo, or your own videos uploaded to Google Drive or DropBox. You can also create your own music mashup with the RaveDJ feature. Download the app here.

Werewolf on Telegram

Remember the good old days when you would go on Telegram and add group chats of your different set of friends to play Werewolf? Telegram still has the Werewolf feature and now that you have plenty of time to spare, you can start playing with friends again. Werewolf is a game of deception where players take on different roles. The goal of the game is to find out what role the other players play and defeat the werewolf. For the instructions, visit this link. Note that there should be at least seven players in the game. The more, the merrier!

Houseparty

Houseparty is the face-to-face social network where you can connect with the people you care about most. The app makes connecting face to face effortless, alerting you when your friends are “in the house” and ready to chat so you can jump right into the conversation. Houseparty is available on Android and iOS.
