Who could forget about Marilyn Monroe’s blonde wavy hair or Audrey Hepburn’s iconic cut crease and cat eye? The 1950s introduced us to some of the most talented and most beautiful women of the century. They were known for their signature looks that are often recreated till this day. Whether it was Brigitte Bardot’s curtain bangs or Elizabeth Taylor’s classic makeup look, we’ve definitely tried a few old Hollywood beauty trends. But, we’re not the only ones who tried a hand at 50s beauty looks.

During this year’s GMA Thanksgiving Gala, Kapuso artists gave their own spin to old Hollywood glamour. The theme of this year’s gala was inspired by the film sirens of the silver screen. These were the iconic artists who paved the way in the entertainment industry.

Now, local celebrities are making these looks their own by melding the past and present. Here are 5 beauty trends we saw your favorite celebrities tried out for the big night.

Jeweled head pieces
Crystal head pieces were definitely the star of the night during the GMA Thanksgiving Gala. A few stars who attended the event with jewels dripping down their crowns were Bianca Umali, Rain Matienzo, and Elle Villanueva.

Clean sophisticated makeup
Nothing looks better than a clean sophisticated makeup look that compliments an elaborate outfit. They chose fresh glowy makeup looks instead of the trendy Euphoria makeup. You can see this done by Sanya Lopez, Solenn Heusaff, and Megan Young.

Red lips
What’s an old Hollywood themed party without some red lipstick? Carla Abellana, Jasmine Curtis Smith, and Carmina Villarroel got the memo. They donned scarlet lips as they strutted down the dazzling red carpet.

Cut creases and cat eyes
Any fan of Audrey Hepburn would know that her cut crease and cat eye looks were simply iconic. We saw many Kapuso stars recreate Audrey’s feminine beauty look. It was successfully done by Heart Evangelista, Rhian Ramos, and Zephanie.

Updos
In a bun, ponytail, or in braids–– placing your hair in an updo is perennially chic. You can have it in a clean bun like Gabbi Garcia and Celeste Cortesi or pulled back into a ponytail like Beauty Gonzales. Maybe you can even have a few strands of hair framing your face in bangs or as ringlets like Bea Alonzo and Colleen Garcia. The choice is yours!
