Are you ready to manifest the alignment of your stars towards a peaceful and loving year? Feng Shui expert Marites Allen shares how in this exclusive and insightful chat

The arrival of a new year brings a sense of hope and new beginnings. As we bid farewell to the previous and all its ups and downs, we are given the opportunity to start anew, leaving behind old habits and embracing new possibilities. The symbolic reset button that comes with the turning of the calendar page is the same chance that people see during Chinese New Year. The arrival of the Lunar year is no different because the idea of new beginnings can still be both exciting and daunting. So, in order to take this concept one step at a time, let us start with the universal theme of this Year of the Water Rabbit—love.

Here’s how the renowned Feng Shui expert Marites Allen branched out the complex and multifaceted emotion known as love, a powerful force that can shape our lives in a variety of ways this year 2023, in her exclusive interview with MEGA.

On self-love

With last year’s forecast as the “year of separation,” Marites Allen emphasized that the Year of the Water Rabbit is entirely different because, as compared to the Tiger’s strength and bravery, this year’s sign is a meek and peaceful animal. Allen even called this year the “year of love.”

Love is a universal topic that has captivated the hearts and minds of people for years, as it seems to never lose relevance or allure. From the love we have for our families and friends to the love we have for ourselves, there are many different facets of love that are just as important as romantic love. There is no doubt that this is a topic that the wider audience is always interested in, and for good reason.

One of the most important facets of love in Allen’s forecast is self-love. It is the foundation upon which all other forms of love are built. Thus, if we have the ability to accept ourselves for who we are and to take care of ourselves both physically and emotionally, then we can easily extend our love to others.

She also elaborated on the importance of a holistic mindset. After the challenging years brought about by the pandemic, people should realize the importance of health, given that everyone has only one shot at life. She even shared her morning routine that really helps to brighten her mindset everyday, and this includes a cycle of prayer, meditation, a good breakfast, and walking. Allen pointed out that individuals should project themselves as already incredible at the start of their day—dress up and be the best version of themselves to attract positive energy.

On loving others

Like last year, the specific animal sign of the year should take note of its allies or ideal company. That’s why if you are born in the Year of the Water Rabbit, it is ideal to retain or build new relationships with the Dog, Boar, and Sheep. As the secret friend of Rabbits, Dogs will be filled with opportunities this year. People born in the Year of the Boar have the promise of exciting relationships, whereas people born in the Year of the Sheep and Dragon must be extra cautious in building relationships because it is advised to build romance outside of their work environment.

Other zodiacs that favor a smooth-sailing romance this year include the Rat, Horse, Snake, and Monkey. Meanwhile, animal signs including Ox, Tiger, and Rooster may encounter bumps in their existing relationships and must be extra cautious with their love luck.

According to Allen, it is best to encourage the younger demographic to build more human connections through face-to-face interactions this year. Her advice for the youth is to lessen the use of electronic devices and digital platforms when spending time with loved ones to build stronger relationships with human contact.

Besides sharing love, this year is also about forgetting the past while you forgive others.

“Year of the Water Rabbit is an ideal opportunity to start something new and leave the past behind—for good. Carrying old grudges will not be beneficial to you, especially in a year when you can hop and leap to new beginnings.”

On manifesting love

Feng Shui expert Marites Allen informs people that the Year of the Water Rabbit falls under the number 4 star, which entails romance, and that this is the best year to attract love to your space. She also mentioned the good luck brought by hues of white, gold, and silver, as well as the positive energy that can come about by incorporating more metal elements into a person’s daily wear. You can wear bracelets or wear red in the Lunar New Year to manifest happiness and love throughout 2023.

If your Chinese zodiac is expected to face challenges this year, Allen said that if you write your wishes and send them to the heavens, it could possibly erase the challenges that you may encounter. Meanwhile, those who are looking for love luck might utilize enhancers like the Double Happiness and Mystic Knot symbols, as well as peonies. Displaying Crystal Swans or Mandarin Ducks in the center of the home is recommended, especially for those who are married and seek to reignite the romance in their relationships.
