Christmas is probably the biggest event in the Philippines, as well as it being the longest. One can immediately hear the classic Christmas jingles on the official start of Yuletide season in the country—the very first day of September. The holidays usually culminate in the New year or the day before people drag their feet back to work. Yup, it is a pretty lengthy celebration!

During this time of financial windfalls and reunions, Filipinos are avid fans of being all out and putting their best foot forward. Only the best gifts, lutong-bahay, brand-new crisp attires and yes, ostentatiously designed Christmas decorations. Pay a visit to any Filipino home and you’ll almost always find a dazzling Christmas tree as the center of attraction.

Celebrities are no exception to this! In fact, many have flocked online and shared how they not only decorated their own Christmas trees but also, seeked the help of renowned designers in putting them up, too.

Have a quick peek at how much of a sight for sore eyes these celebrity Christmas trees are. You never know, you might just be inspired to adopt the same look or style for your own!

Bea Alonzo – Gideon Hermosa

It’s probably best to start with superstar Bea Alonzo’s Christmas set-up as hers isn’t just one tree but actually, three. Yup, talk about being extra for the holidays! Bea wanted to put “romance” as the central theme of her Christmas arrangement—this follows from having a sparks-filled year herself. In light of the concept, the actress used romantic hues such as lavender, pink and blue. What makes the core Christmas tree unconventional is the pop of color brought by the dried orange slices.

To finish off the trio, dried flowers are placed to create soft edges and to accomplish that sustainable yet romantic feel. Truly a sight to behold, Bea’s Christmas arrangement was possible with the help of in-demand celebrity events stylist, Gideon Hermosa. Hermosa’s career boasts of a star-studded clientele of weddings such as Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano, Billy Crawford and Colleen Garcia and Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.

Angel Locsin – Randy Lazaro

In Angel and Neil’s Youtube channel, the couple shared the history of their 12-year old Christmas tree. It’s dated all the way back when the now married pair were still friends. Set up and fully-decorated, the two still got the help of long-time friend and famous events stylist, Randy Lazaro, to revamp their supposedly finished tree.

The pair’s trust in the designer doesn’t only come from them being friends, but also because Lazaro is behind many successful events such as Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsey’s ethereal wedding, AC Bonifacio’s Riverdale-themed debut and even, their very own intimate garden wedding.

The final result? A Christmas tree that alludes to the couple’s nuptials—with mostly hues of brown, bronze and green. The design bristles with an aura of plantita and Filipiniana vibes.

Jennylyn Mercado – Gideon Hermosa

Kapuso stars Jennylyn and Dennis also got their Christmas tree designed by celebrity stylist Gideon Hermosa. The newlyweds and expecting parents got ready for Santa’s arrival with an elegant tree that donned all shades of green-from light, jade to dark. Clear teardrop lights and “blooming flowers” also complement the chic look. To fully complete the theme, neatly wrapped velvet green and gold ribboned gift boxes were placed below.

Vicky Belo – Key Designs PH and Glitterville Studios

The tradition of putting up their flamboyant Christmas tree dates way back Since Dra. Vicky Belo and Dr. Hayden Kho’s adorable daughter, Scarlet Snow, was born six years ago. International stylist Stephen Brown of Glitterville Studios, who usually frequented the Philippines during this season to design the family’s tree, could not come due to the restrictions of the pandemic. Brown is the acclaimed designer who’s done work with big celebrities and their Christmas trees, like Oprah Winfrey. The couple instead opted for a joint design by Glitterville Studios and Key Designs PH.

Two years ago, this celebrity Christmas arrangement sported Mexican culture as its central theme. In 2021, the family chose a “magical” motif—with a sugar plum fairy at the center and its “helpers”, unicorns and cupcake bearing nutcracker soldiers, by its side. You will also find sprinkles of various confectionery around the tree, such as cotton candy and macarons. No Christmas tree looks sweeter than theirs!

Truly eye-catching, what makes this design unconventional is its use of vivid fiesta-like colors and big ornaments. Best part about it is that everything is proudly Pinoy-made and is even exported abroad.

Watch how the family kept their long tradition in their vlog, below.

Gabbi Garcia – Dave Sandoval together with Ernest Pascual of Bespoke Manila

It-girl, Gabbi Garcia, absolutely loves Christmas—most especially decorating. In her last vlog for November, Gabbi shared how she put her Christmas tree with the helping hands and designer eyes of her “titos,” Dave Sandoval and Ernest Pascual of Bespoke Manila.

Veering away from her previous white and brown-hued rustic theme, 2021’s motif is all about utilizing the blush pink color and creating that dreamy delicate look. Dried Gypsophilas extenders, matching silver and white ornaments and personalized balls adorned the tree—resulting to a textured and feminine Christmas tree.

Ruffa Gutierrez – Eventique Manila

Ice-blue, snow white and embellished with complementing ornaments such as polar bears, Ruffa G’s Christmas tree will make you feel the brisk Yuletide air just by looking at it.

Eventique Manila has catered their fair share of celebrities, such as Cristalle Belo and Jolina Magdangal. The same events group is behind Ruffa’s mother’s, Annabelle Rama, Christmas tree.
