Your Beauty Guide To Getting Vacation-Ready

Your Beauty Guide To Getting Vacation-Ready

By

Ah, sweet summer—the season of pristine beaches and downtime by the pool. But before you enjoy yourself, preparation is essential to enjoy your summer to the fullest. We covered three of the most important concerns: hair removal, hair and nails.

Hair Removal

Keeping your bikini area hair-free is common with ladies before a vacation. While there are a plethora of hair removal options such as waxing, places such as Wink Laser Studio offer Brazilian laser hair removal.

“Most of our clients find that laser is a much more comfortable way to remove unwanted hair down there than waxing,” says Janna Alfeche of Wink. She also adds that many loyal customers start with waxing then eventually switch to laser for permanent results.

“A package of Brazilian laser hair removal costs P36,000 for 12 sessions, with the recommended number of sessions ranging between 6-8. On the other hand, our Brazilian wax costs P800, so if you come in monthly, that’s P9,600 in a year and P96,000 in ten years,” Janna says. So if you prefer to be hair-free down there, laser hair removal ends up being more cost effective in the long run.

Hair

Summer can be harsh on your scalp as well, causing uncomfortable dryness and sunburn. To avoid this, hair care precautions such as moisturizing treatments are recommended. This step is essential to restore life and moisture in your hair.

If you’re too lazy to leave the house, a DIY mask can be whipped out in a matter of minutes, such as an avocado hair mask (which supermodel Miranda Kerr has her own variation of as well!). All you will be needing is an avocado, 1/4 cup olive oil and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Simply mash the ingredients into a paste and leave on the hair for 15 – 20 minutes. After washing it out, you will instantly have a smooth and nourished mane, ready to take on the day.

Nails

Sure, it’s common knowledge to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. But did you know that UV rays can dehydrate and dry your nails out as well? An easy solution to this problem is to add topcoats that feature UV protection for the nails. In addition to this, these topcoats will stop the sun from discoloring your manicure as well!
